“Wireless” Trolley to Appear in Moscow
In October this year, Moscow announced tenders for the first 20 trolleybuses able to drive without wires up to 5 km.
For the purchase of a batch of “cars on batteries” the authorities will spend about 300 million rubles. A source in the State Unitary Enterprise “Mosgortrans” told about this.
Trolley on batteries will be modern, low-floor cars, adapted for wheelchair users, with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Each of them will cost about 15 million rubles. Battery will represent a box no bigger than an old TV and will be located at the end of the cabin.
