Russia and Brazil to Sign Contract on Pantsir-S1 Supplies

Russia and Brazil are currently holding talks on the supply of the Pantsir-S1 air defence systems. The parties plan to start contract negotiations in the near future. This was announced by Deputy Chief Designer of the Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau Alexander Zubarev.

“We have already held several meetings both in Brazil and Russia… In early September, we conducted a fire demonstration at the Ashuluk range for the Brazilians, and they were satisfied with the results,” Mr. Zubarev said on the sidelines of the Africa Aerospace and Defence arms show in South Africa.

“”I hope that we will start discussing contract details in the near future,” the representative of the Instrument Design Bureau stated, adding that negotiations are at the final stage of technical consultations.

According to the information available, the parties are not considering the possibility of the licensed production at the moment.
