From 2017 Nuclear Submarines in Russia to Be Built of Domestic Parts
Full transition to the domestic components in the production of Russian nuclear submarines will happen in 2017, the chief adviser to the general director of “Sevmash” Eduard Borisov said on Friday.
“With regard to the project “Borey”, the foreign components are 0%, we have completely switched to Russian components and materials. Regarding the project “Yasen”, we still have the delivery of one Ukrainian company and one company from Moldova. But since 2017 we refuse the services of these producers,” E. Borisov told to the reporters.
In this case, the refusal of the Ukrainian components could happen sooner, as the Government of Ukraine has not always reasonable solutions,” he added. As presidential aide Vladimir Kozhin reported recently, the import substitution program in the future involves the production by Russia itself of nearly 100% of military products.
