New “Saiga” to Go into Production this Year
New samples of carbines series “Saiga” will be put into production in the current year, according to Friday’s statement of the concern “Kalashnikov”.
“In 2012, we developed new models of small arms, including carbine “Saiga-12 app.340” for practical shooting, carbine “Saiga-9”, athletic carbine “Saiga-MK-107″. All of these items will be put into production in 2014,” it was said in a statement.
“Saiga” is a hunting rifle based on the Kalashnikov rifle. The carbine differs from military weapons primarily by the fact that it is not impossible to fire bursts. The developers have positioned it as a weapon of “universal” shooter – equally well adapted for self-defense, practical or recreational shooting and hunting at short distances.
