African Countries Express Interest in Russian Yak-130 Jet Trainers

A number of African countries are interested in the Russian Yak-130 combat training aircraft. This statement was made by Rosoboronexport’s delegation head Yury Demchenko following the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition in South Africa.

“Preliminary analysis of the interest in the Russian military-industrial complex expressed by the countries of the region has shown a very strong trend of readiness to purchase Russian helicopters and aviation equipment, including the Yak-130 combat training aircraft and the entire line of Mil or Kamov helicopters,” Mr. Demchenko announced.

In addition, the countries expressed a great interest in air defence systems, including those presented at the exhibition by Russia’s Almaz-Antey.

“Particular attention was paid to the training complexes, additional learning equipment and means of application,” Rosoboronexport’s delegation head pointed out.
