Brazil to Take Delivery of Russian Mi-35 Helicopters This Year

Russia will complete the delivery of Mi-35 helicopters to Brazil by the end of the year. This was stated by Rosoboronexport Deputy Director General Sergey Goreslavsky at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition in Pretoria.

It should be noted that Russia and Brazil signed a contract to supply Brazil with 12 Mi-35 helicopters in 2008. It was earlier reported that the delivery of the helicopters would be finished in 2013, but the delivery of the final batch was delayed due to technical issues.

“The negotiations with the Brazilian side have become the next step of the Pantsir-S promotion in Brazil and the actual completion of the Mi-35 supplies. I’m talking about the completion, since we have agreed upon the delivery of the final batch. It will be made by the end of the year, and we will fulfill the contract signed in 2008,” Mr. Goreslavsky pointed out, adding that Rosoboronexport held trilateral talks (Russia, Brazil, South Africa) on the implementation of plans to create a joint product in the field of air defence.
