Radar Visibility of Launchers “Bastion” Reduced 15-20 times


The use of composite materials in installations of mobile coastal missile system “Bastion-R” allowed to reduce their radar signature 15-20 times, the representative of the Belarusian “OKB TSP”, which created a self-propelled launcher, told to the ITAR-TASS.

As the specialist explained, the casework of K-340P is made of a set of sandwich panels produced from composite materials. The panels are formed in such a way that they provide the absorption of radar signals in some of the most important parts of the electromagnetic spectrum.

It allowed to reduce the radar signature of self-propelled launchers 15-20 times and significantly reduce the probability of detecting the enemy,” the source said.
