Russia Completes Massive Vostok-2014 Drills in Far East
Russia’s Eastern Military District troops are currently on their way to the permanent bases after taking part in the large-scale Vostok-2014 drills in the country’s Far East. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defence Ministry.
“The troops (forces) of the Eastern Military District, Pacific Fleet, Air Force, Long-Range and Transport Aviation, Airborne Troops are currently on their way to the loading points for further transportation by rail, sea and air to their permanent bases, while the aircraft are regrouping to head for their air bases, and the Pacific Fleet vessels are also regrouping,” the press center of the Defence Ministry informed.
The Vostok-2014 exercises were conducted at more than 20 land, sea and air ranges from Anadyr to Vladivostok. More than 155,000 servicemen, some 8,000 units of military hardware, including over 4,000 armored vehicles, 632 aircraft, and 84 ships took part in the military exercises.
