Russia to Increase Information Protection for Government Agencies
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered to increase protection of Russian communications networks and information resources used by government agencies and prevent leaks of confidential information.
“We should qualitatively increase protection of our communications networks and information resources, primarily those used by government agencies. We should aim at excluding unlawful interference with their work, as well as leaks of personal and confidential information,” Mr. Putin told the Russian Security Council.
According to the President, protection of Russia’s information space against contemporary threats is one of the priorities in an effort to ensure national security.
“The reliable operation of information resources, control and communication systems has exceptional significance for our country’s defensive capability, for sustained development of our economy and social sector, for protection of Russia’s sovereignty,” the President concluded.
