Russia to Keep Track of Advanced Ballistic Missiles Launches
“Creating a single space system is one of the key directions of the forces and the Russian nuclear deterrent. As a result, we will be able to detect launches of ballistic missiles of various types, including starts of prototypes from the world’s oceans and from the territories of countries conducting the tests,” Shoigu said on a conference call on Thursday.
According to him, this system will replace the means of missile warning, developed in the Soviet period.
The structure of single space system will unite new generation spacecrafts, as well as modernized command centers, providing control of orbital groups, reception and processing in the automatic mode.
