International Conference on Nuclear Fusion to Be Opened
Twenty-fifth International Conference on Fusion Energy (FEC 2014) will be opened on Monday in St. Petersburg. Russia for the first time in its modern history hosts this scientific forum.
The Conference, held every two years under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is a platform to discuss the future of research in the field of fusion energy. The first such conference was held in 1961 in Salzburg, Austria, the Soviet Union hosted it in Novosibirsk in 1968. The organizers of this conference became the IAEA, the Russian government and the state corporation “Rosatom”. The forum will be attended by representatives of 45 states.
The exhibition in the framework of the FEC 2014 will present the exposition of Russian and foreign companies involved in the implementation of the ITER project. Rosatom enterprises will demonstrate their products made for this project.
