Russia Plans to Drastically Reduce Cost of Launching of Satellites into Orbit

Russian scientists are working on a sharp decline in the value of the spacecraft launching in orbit, the general director of the Foundation for Advanced Studies Andrei Grigoryev said during the forum “Open Innovations”.

“With Joint Rocket-Space Corporation now we are working to build a list of joint projects. They will focus on launching into orbit a payload or on the creation of small spacecraft, which will significantly reduce the requirements for vehicles. A key challenge is to dramatically reduce the cost of laucnching, the options may be different,” Grigoriev told to reporters.

In April, Joint Rocket-Space Corporation and Foundation for Advanced Studies signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of defense projects. According to the document, they will cooperate closely in the search, selection and implementation of scientific and technological projects in defense and security interests of Russia.
