Russia Confirms Plans to Supply Indonesia with SSJ 100 Aircraft
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade confirmed its plans to supply up to 15 Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes to Indonesia within the next three years.
“Russia is interested in finding a new partner to supply up to 15 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft to Indonesia within the next three years,” Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said during an official visit to Jakarta.
It should be noted that Russia agreed to supply 12 Sukhoi Superjet 100 planes to Indonesian company PT Sky Aviation under the contract signed in August 2011. The contract was estimated at $380.4 million. In 2013, PT Sky Aviation began experiencing financial difficulties, and its activities were frozen.
“In the nearest future we will make a decision on the planes delivered in accordance with previous agreements, and also plan to sign contracts on 15 new planes within the next three years,” Mr. Manturov pointed out.
