Rostec Introduced Protection Electronic System on Solar Cells

United Instrument-Corporation (part of the holding “Rostec”) presented a prototype of mobile optoelectronic protection system “Indigo”, which is able to operate on solar panels, to recognize objects at a distance up to 250 meters, and transmit the information up to 10 kilometers.

The development was presented at the XVIII International Exhibition of State Security Interpolitex 2014. The list of potential customers includes the Russian Defense Ministry, border guards and other law enforcement agencies.

According to the press service of the defense industry, “Indigo” comprises the workplace for monitoring and surveillance, and mobile radio wave-optical systems that detect a person at a distance of 250 meters and provide further tracking in an automatic mode, as well as fix objects in the infrared spectrum.
