Russia to Approve New State Armaments Program Next Year
The Russian Federation will approve the new State Armaments Program for 2016-2025 in December 2015. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Defence and Industrial Commission’s Board Oleg Bochkaryov on Tuesday.
It should be noted that the new state program will become Russia’s fifth armaments plan for the past 20 years.
“The financing volume is not yet known and the program has not yet been adopted. The budget will be approved by a presidential order in December 2015. This is the deadline for approving the new State Armaments Program for 2016-2025,” the official commented on the issue.
According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, the program will stipulate state-of-the-art developments, in particular, the construction of module-based ships.
