Russian Air Force to Take Delivery of 120 Helicopters This Year
The units of Russia’s Air Force will receive more than 120 new helicopters, including Mi-28N, Ka-226, Ansat, Mi-26, Ka-52, Mi-35M, Mi-8AMTSh and Mi-8MTV-5, by the end of the year. This statement was made by Col. Igor Klimov, a spokesman for the Russian Air Force, on Tuesday.
“Apart from this, the fleet of operating helicopters is currently undergoing intense repair. Therefore, repair and manufacturing enterprises of the military-industrial complex will deliver over 50 helicopters to the units of the Russian Air Force,” Mr. Klimov pointed out.
“Six Ansat-U training helicopters will be supplied to the Syzran branch of the Military Training Scientific Center of the Air Force. The mean flight time was over 60 hours this year,” Mr. Klimov concluded.
It should be noted that the Army Air Force marked the 66th anniversary on October 28. In 1948, the first air squadron equipped with helicopters was formed.
