Russia to Develop Defences in Response to NATO Aggression
Russia will take NATO’s increased European presence into account while developing its new military defence plan. This was announced by Alexander Grushko, the country’s envoy to the military bloc.
“Russia will take every necessary measure to ensure reliable protection against any possible threats. The alliance’s decision to strengthen its eastern flank would have long-lasting political implications. NATO can’t ignore the fact that the stronger configuration of the alliance forces will be taken into account by our military strategists,” Mr. Grushko pointed out.
“In the absence of a major challenge that would excuse its existence, NATO used the crisis in Ukraine as a pretext to flex it military muscles and switch to the territorial war, which was treated as the bloc’s main role in Europe during the Cold War,” Mr. Grushko concluded.
