Russian Defense Ministry: Weapons Testing at “Kapustin Yar” Completed Successfully


Plans of testing of new weapons on the range “Kapustin Yar” (Astrakhan region) this year are carried out strictly, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

“Plans for testing of new weapons at the range “Kapustin Yar” in 2014 are carried out strictly. In 2014, the State Central interspecific landfill of the Russian Defense Ministry (polygon “Kapustin Yar”, Astrakhan region) planned to receive testing of more than 80 models of weapons at more than 180 test subjects,” was said in a statement.

Currently, the landfill is considered as an experimental platform for testing of robotic systems. In 2015, the Russian Defense Ministry will continue the full modernization of landfill measuring complex with the transition to automatic operation.
