Russian Military Intelligence Marks 96th Anniversary
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated officers and veterans of the military intelligence service, noting the importance of their work for the country’s security. On Wednesday, Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate marked its 96th anniversary. In a congratulatory telegram, Mr. Medvedev marked that the situation in the world remains complicated with a new configuration of global and regional security being developed and new threats to Russia’s national interests and security of citizens emerging.
“All these circumstances require a flexible and preventive reaction. This means further sharpening of the work including by exact coordination of special services and agencies,” Mr. Medvedev pointed out and also congratulated Russia’s intelligence veterans and personnel who are currently working abroad.
“I thank you for honorable service. I am sure that you will continue acting as reliably and consistently as a single team,” the Prime Minister said.
