Indonesian Defence Minister Highly Appreciates Russian Arms
Indonesian Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu got acquainted with Russian-made products at the INDO DEFENCE exhibition. The Minister showed special interest in the close combat means, such as sniper rifles, pistols, machine guns and grenade launchers. He was also briefed on the advantages of Kilo-class submarines (Project 636) that have been of great interest for Indonesia. These submarines have been designed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau in St. Petersburg.
According to the official press release, there are 22 national pavilions at the defence exhibition that has been held since 2004. It traditionally presents all kinds of arms and military hardware for ground troops and naval forces, aircraft and aircraft weapons, air defence systems, IT technologies, unconventional warfare systems, as well as systems and means of communication. This year, 525 companies from 45 countries demonstrate their products on a total area of 10,000 square meters.
