Russia to Test Caterpillar and Wheeled Vehicles in Arctic
The specialists of the Automotive Research and Testing Center of the Russian Defence Ministry’s 3rd Central Research Institute will test modern and advanced samples of military caterpillar and wheeled vehicles in the Arctic conditions. This came in a statement by Deputy Defence Minister Dmitry Bulgakov.
“The Defence Ministry’s expedition will check performance and technical characteristics of modern and advanced samples of military caterpillar and wheeled vehicles in the conditions of low air temperatures and high humidity. It is necessary to understand the directions for the technical modernization and gain experience of the equipment use in the Arctic zone missions,” Mr. Bulgakov said, noting that the Defence Ministry has already conducted an expedition this summer to test advanced and modern vehicles in the desert, sandy and mountain terrain conditions in Russia’s Astrakhan Region and Kabardino-Balkaria Republic.
