Russia’s IL-76MD-90A Successfully Completes Flight Tests
The new IL-76MD-90A transport aircraft has completed flight tests and is now being prepared for further transfer to a research and development group in the city of Taganrog, where a special aircraft system will be created on its basis. This information was furnished by the press service of the Aviastar-SP aviation factory.
According to the press release, the specialists of the State Flight Test Center have highly appreciated the operation of the new aircraft.
“The aircraft is now being prepared for transfer to the customer,” the press center informed.
It should be noted that the new aircraft will be delivered to the Aviation R&D and Production Complex in Taganrog. Once remodeled into the radar surveillance plane, it will have the model name A-100 and its testing is due to start in 2017.
The IL-76MD-90A is a profoundly overhauled version of the IL-76 transport aircraft. The handover of the first jet in the new family is expected to take place in November 2014.
