China May Receive Standard Su-35 Fighter Jets
Russia is ready to supply China with a standard version of Su-35 fighters to be upgraded in accordance with the customer’s requirements. This was stated by a high-ranking official at the Airshow China 2014.
“During the talks, we informed the Chinese side that we can supply a standard version of Su-35 fighters, which has been completed and tested, and received the Russian Air Force’s certificate,” the official said, adding that Russia is ready to sign an additional contract to conduct design and experimental work.
“It will take much time to upgrade aircraft before its supplies to the customer because any changes envisage additional flight proof cycles and firing of all types of weaponry. Only flight tests of all types of missiles used by the Su-35 fighter jet require 1,000 flying hours. We can’t do this,” the official concluded.
