Russia and China to Discuss Military-Technical Cooperation

Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu has arrived in China, where he will meet the republic’s military and government officials and participate in a meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation. This was announced by Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry.

“During his stay in Beijing, the Russian Defence Minister will hold talks with Chinese Defence Minister General Chang Wanquan. It is expected that the Russian Defence Minister will be received by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang. The officials plan to discuss the current issues of international and regional security, bilateral military and military-technical cooperation,” Mr. Konashenkov said.

It should be noted that Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu and Vice-Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission Xu Qiliang will also chair the 19th session of the Russian-Chinese Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation.
