Russia and Pakistan Willing to Boost Military Cooperation
Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu paid a working visit to Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who expressed satisfaction with the resumption of military cooperation between Moscow and Islamabad.
“I’m glad that we have resumed our cooperation and I hope it will be dynamic and diversified,” the Pakistani Prime Minister said, noting that he invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit the country.
“I hope that the Russian President will respond to it,” Mr. Sharif added.
According to Mr. Shoygu, Russia and Pakistan signed a military cooperation agreement that provides legal framework for further steps in this sphere.
“The two countries have many issues to discuss and many questions to solve. I look forward to preparing our joint projects in the field of military cooperation,” the Russian Defence Minister said, noting that the Commanders-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force, Navy and Ground Forces have visited Pakistan this year.
