The new regiment equipped with the S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems has taken up combat duty in Russia’s Moscow Region. This statement was made by Alexey Zolotukhin, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry, on Thursday.

“The Russian Aerospace Defence Forces have four regiments equipped with the newest S-400 Triumf systems that ensure air defence of Moscow and the Central Industrial Region,” Mr. Zolotukhin noted.

The press service of the Almaz-Antey Concern earlier reported that the eighth S-400 regimental set had been transferred to the Defence Ministry ahead of schedule. According to the information available, the military will receive another regimental set before the end of the year.

It should be noted that the S-400 Triumf systems are designed for protecting political, administrative, economic and military sites from air strikes, strategic, cruise, tactical and operative tactical ballistic missiles and medium-range ballistic missiles.
