Aerospace Defense Troops to Launch “Glonass-K” on December 1

Troops of Aerospace Defense (ASD) at the Plesetsk cosmodrome are preparing a carrier rocket “Soyuz-2.1b” to launch a new generation spacecraft “Glonass-K” to be held on December 1, 2014, the representative of the press and information service of Russian Defense Ministry Colonel Alexei Zolotukhin said on Monday.

Previous launch of the spacecraft of GLONASS system was successfully conducted by Aerospace Defense crews from the Plesetsk cosmodrome in June 2014.

“The state test cosmodrome Plesetsk (Arkhangelsk region) continues the preparation of the rocket “Soyuz-2.1b” to launch a new generation spacecraft “Glonass-K”. The optimum launch date of “Glonass-K” is December 1, 2014,” Zolotukhin said.
