Western Military District Helicopterists to Begin Combat Tests of Mi-35M

The pilots of the Western Military District will test five shock helicopters Mi-35M, the head of the press service of the Western Military District Colonel Oleg Kochetkov told.

“Five modern attack helicopters Mi-35M were accepted by the experts of the Western Military District at the factory. In the near future aviation equipment will be delivered to one of the military airfields in the Leningrad region, which will host the military trials. Until then, Mi-35M passed combat tests on the basis of Ostrov airfield in the Pskov region,” Kochetkov said.

This will be the first batch of attack helicopters of this model coming to Leningrad airbase of Western Military District army aviation. The helicopterists of Leningrad Air Force and Air Defence have already passed planned retraining to work with this type of aircraft and received approval to conduct operations on the Mi-35M.
