Russia May Build 24 Nuclear Power Units in India
Russia may build 20-24 nuclear power units in India instead of 14-16 units as agreed previously. The new road map on cooperation of the countries in the nuclear industry can be presented during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Delhi on Thursday. This came in a statement by Russia’s Ambassador Alexander Kadakin.
“We have great plans for cooperation in the nuclear industry. Russia had agreed to help India build 14-16 nuclear units. Now it seems that the demand of India is much bigger and this figure may reach 20-24 units,” Mr. Kadakin said.
“The countries plan to start negotiations for the construction of the fifth and sixth units at the Kudankulam NPP soon. The agreement on the construction of the third and fourth units will be signed during Vladimir Putin’s visit,” Mr. Kadakin pointed out.
