Russian Defence Ministry to Receive S-300V4 Systems This Year
The Russian Defence Ministry will receive a brigade set of the S-300V4 antiaircraft missile system by the end of 2014. This information was presented by a source in the Defence Ministry.
“One brigade set (three batteries) of the S-300V4 antiaircraft missile system will be transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defence over the next two weeks,” the source pointed out without specifying the location of these complexes.
It should be noted that the S-300 air defence missile system, as a defensive weapon, is considered to be one of the most effective means for combating air and ballistic targets. The complex is capable of simultaneously tracking up to six targets at a range of 120 km and firing 12 missiles. Its versatility consists in engaging not only all the kinds of aircraft, but also missiles.
