Russia’s Defence Ministry Receives New Batch of Su-34 Aircraft
The Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association has transferred the fourth batch of the Su-34 aircraft to the Russian Defence Ministry in 2014. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
“We will do our best to continue this production. Today, the plant’s management is making serious efforts to modernize the company and ensure the highest quality of products,” Governor of Novosibirsk Region Vladimir Gorodetsky stated.
The number of bombers in the batch has not been specified. Association Director Sergey Smirnov said that the company was obliged to supply 18 Su-34 aircraft this year.
“We produced 14 aircraft in 2014. This year, we will not only fulfill the plan, but will also manufacture two additional bombers,” Mr. Smirnov pointed out.
It should be noted that the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association signed a contract to supply the Su-34 aircraft in 2008. The contract with the Defence Ministry is due to be fulfilled by 2020.
