Russia Developing Munitions for New Self-Propelled Gun
The Russian military-industrial complex will finish developing a set of high-precision munitions for the advanced Coalition-SV self-propelled guns in a year and a half or two years. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission’s Board Oleg Bochkarev.
“We will finish creating a set of high-precision munitions in a year and a half or two years,” Mr. Bochkarev stated, noting that the Coalition-SV self-propelled gun should increase the fire rate and range of the artillery.
In March 2014, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that the first production samples of the new self-propelled gun would begin entering service with the Russian Army in 2016, and the first prototypes would be presented during the Victory Parade in 2015. The representatives of the Defence Ministry explained that the complex would considerably outperform the existing samples of the same caliber in terms of the fire power.
