Russian Missiles Ready to Achieve New World Record
The flight distance of the Sineva and Liner sea missiles may exceed the previous world record of 11,547 kilometers achieved in 2008. This was announced by Director and Chief Designer of the State Rocket Center Vladimir Degtyar (Miass, Chelyabinsk Region).
“The technical capabilities of the Sineva and Liner sea missiles may be used to achieve the new world record,” Mr. Degtyar stated.
The Director General of the State Rocket Center recalled that the modernization potential and high power capabilities of the Sineva missile complex were demonstrated in 2008 when it was launched at a range of more than 11,500 kilometers in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. In October 2008, the Tula nuclear submarine of the Northern Fleet launched the Sineva missile at a distance of 11,547 kilometers as part of the Stability-2008 exercise.
