Remote-Controlled Robot-Miner to Be Created in Russia in 2015
The work to create a remotely controlled robotic system designed for mine clearing will be completed in 2015, the chief of the engineering troops of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, Lieutenant-General Yuri Stavitskiy told.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said earlier that robotics will be a major focus of the new state armaments program for the years 2016-2025.
“By 2015, the work on creating a remotely controlled robotic demining system will be completed,” Stavitskiy said without specifying details.
Also the creation of engineering systems of remote exploration and mine clearing is continuing, “that will increase by 1.3 times the speed of breaching in minefields.”
