Scientists from Obninsk Provided Promising Russian Airliner with Unique Materials

The accessories made of polymer composite materials for the tail fin of the caisson of the promising domestic airliner “MS-21” (Yak-242) are made at Obninsk scientific-production enterprise “Technology”, Kaluga region. As it was reported on December 20 to REGNUM correspondent by the spokesman of scientific-production enterprise Sergei Ananishin, in the near future the caisson will go to Zhukovskiy Central Aero-Hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) for static tests.

According to Ananishin, the distinctive feature of unique Russian aircraft project is widespread application in the design of polymer composite materials made by Obninsk enterprises within the cooperation to create the main plane of the XXI century.

The scientists from Obninsk developed technology of manufacturing parts of caissons for keel and stabilizer of polymer composite materials. A distinctive feature of innovation has been the widespread application of automated operations.
