Russia and USA to Continue Developing Space Cooperation

Russia’s NPO Energomash has signed a contract for the supply of the RD-181 rocket engines to the US Orbital Sciences Corporation. The engines will be used on the first stage of the Antares rocket. The contract is estimated at $1 billion.

“It is encouraging that American business circles show pragmatism despite the current political pressure on the economy. They understand that it’s impossible to work in the space industry without cooperation. Russia continues supplying titanium to Boeing. Lockheed Martin has proposed new projects. In addition, NASA wants to extend cooperation on the ISS,” Vladimir Gutenev, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Industry and First Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union, stated.

In his opinion, the US-Russian scientific and technical cooperation continues and develops. He expressed hope that such integration processes would deepen in other sectors of the economy.
