Russia to Complete Military Tablet Tests in 2015
The state tests of the tablet created by the United Instrument-Making Corporation for the Russian Defence Ministry will be completed in the first quarter of 2015. This was stated by United Instrument-Making Corporation CEO Alexander Yakunin.
“We plan to finish testing the tablet for the Defence Ministry in the first quarter of 2015. Taking into account the demand for such tablets, we plan to provide the Russian Armed Forces with more than 15,000 devices,” Mr. Yakunin said.
It should be noted that this development is part of the large project (hardware and software complex of the mobile certification center) designed for issuing digital signatures. According to Mr. Yakunin, the complex is a major step towards the development of an electronic confidential flow of documents.
According to media reports, the device will be equipped with a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, two built-in cameras, and modern communications modules.
