Russian Government Allocated 347 Million Rubles for MOE Centers in Arctic


The Russian government has sent 347 million rubles for the construction of specialized rescue centers in the Russian Arctic, according to the website of the Cabinet.

The funds are allocated under the state program “Protecting the population and territories from emergency situations, fire safety and security on water”. The ordinance is amending the Federal Program “Risk reduction and mitigation of natural and man-made disasters in Russia up to 2015”.

The Cabinet has decided to increase funding for the construction of rescue centers in the Arctic under the event “Building the infrastructure system for rescue and other emergency operations in remote locations in the Arctic zone, and in particularly difficult conditions, including the use of GLONASS resources”. The funds were obtained through the redistribution of funds from other activities of the program.
