The Orlan-10 drones will be delivered to a unit of the Eastern Military District deployed in Chukotka before the end of the year. This came in a statement by a spokesman for the Eastern Military District.

“The command staff and operators have completed training at the drone control center in Moscow Region. Before the end of the year, specialists with several Orlan-10 sets will arrive at the permanent service base,” the official said, noting that the first trial flights of the drones under low temperature conditions are scheduled for the beginning of 2015.

In 2015, it is planned to organize trial combat duty of the drone unit in Chukotka for objective terrain monitoring, drilling combat tasks in the near maritime zone and performing flights in the area of the Arctic units on the Wrangel Island and Cape Otto Schmidt.
