Two Speedboats “Raptor” to Join Black Sea Fleet in Early 2015

Two speedboats “Raptor” will be part of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) in the first quarter of 2015, BSF spokesman Vyacheslav Trukhachev reported.

On Tuesday, the boats were delivered to Novorossiysk naval base by trucks from the Leningrad shipyard “Pella”. To date, at the Novorossiisk base it was already tested three boats of a similar project.

“The crews of boats together with specialists from the plant have begun to prepare the ships for the state tests. The boat is planned to be transferred to the Black Sea Fleet in the first quarter of 2015,” Trukhachev said.

The boats like “Raptor” are capable of operating in the coastal zone of the seas, straits and estuaries. The equipment of ships can perform tasks at any time at a distance of 100 miles from the base.
