Russia to Determine Technological Development Priorities

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Russian Government to complete forming the priority directions for scientific, technological and engineering development in Russia with the aim of reducing the country’s dependence on foreign products and technologies by May 30, 2015.

The document published on the official website of the Kremlin states that the Cabinet of Ministers in cooperation with the Council for Science and Russian Academy of Sciences should develop and adopt a legal act to determine a mechanism for coordination of the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations and Russian Academy of Sciences.

The Russian Government, Council for Science and Russian Academy of Sciences have been instructed to elaborate and approve a plan aimed at restructuring scientific organizations operating under the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations to create effective research teams.
