Russian Airports to Receive New Radar Equipment
Russia’s United Instrument-Making Corporation will establish and commission the newest radar equipment at the airfields in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Ust-Kut and Neryungri. It is also planned to supply this equipment to foreign customers. This information was furnished by the press center of the United Instrument-Making Corporation.
It should be noted that the AORL-1AS surveillance radar which has been installed at 30 Russian airfields was designed by the Chelyabinsk-based Polyot on the basis of a special information processing algorithm.
“The surveillance radar is able to operate at airports with any flying intensity, including those with automated air traffic control systems,” Director of the United Instrument-Making Corporation’s Department Alexander Kalinin commented.
