First Samples of “Equipment of Future” “Ratnik” Admitted in Armed Forces
The first prototypes of Russian military equipment for the “future soldier” “Ratnik” entered the armed forces, board member of the Military-Industrial Commission Oleg Martianov said on Thursday to RIA Novosti.
“Ratnik” combines modern firearms, effective protection kits, reconnaissance and communications, in total about ten different subsystems.
“Some examples of equipment were already supplied to the troops,” Martianov said.
He noted that in February it must pass a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on equipment, which must decide on its final shape. One of the main issues of discussion will be the inclusion in equipment of AK-12 and AEK-971. The first series of equipment can enter the army in the spring of this year.
