Russia’s Admiral Gorshkov Frigate Undergoing Sea Trials

The Admiral Gorshkov frigate (Project 22350) will undergo the next stage of factory sea tests which will be held in the Baltic Sea before the end of January. The ship has already completed the certain stage of testing. This information was furnished by a representative of the Northern Shipyard. Commenting on media reports about the problems in the power system of the frigate, the spokesman stressed that no defects had been detected.

“This is a new project, and the tests are carried out very carefully,” the representative of the shipyard pointed out.

It should be noted that the construction of Project 22350 frigates started in 2006, when the lead ship of the project, the Admiral Gorshkov, was laid down. It was reported earlier that it set out for sea trials for the first time in November. The warship can be taken for pilot operation in early 2015.
