Test Sites of Strategic Missile Forces to Be Fully Automatic by 2016
Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) of Russia plan to complete the full automation of its test sites in 2016, a representative of the press and information service of the Defense Ministry, Major of Strategic Missile Forces Dmitry Andreev said Thursday.
“In 2016, the Strategic Missile Forces will complete automation of its ranges, which will increase the number and intensity of testing new weapons and military equipment. For example, the intensity of work of the State Central Multipurpose Firing Range of Russian Ministry of Defense “Kapustin Yar” (Astrakhan region) in 2016 will increase by two times,” he said.
According to Andreev, the improved landfills permit testing and research, not only for the Russian Defense Ministry, but also to other government agencies and foreign partners.
