ESA to Continue Using Russian Rokot Carrier Rocket
In 2015, the European Space Agency plans to launch three remote sensing satellites, including one with the use of the Russian Rokot carrier rocket. This statement was made by European Space Agency Director Jean-Jacques Dordain at a press conference on Friday.
“The first launch of the remote sensing satellite will be performed in May by means of the Vega carrier rocket from Kourou in French Guiana, the second launch will be conducted in autumn with the use of the Russian Rokot carrier rocket,” Mr. Dordain announced, adding that the budget of the European Space Agency will be about €4.4 billion in 2015.
Speaking of the scientific program, the Director of the European Space Agency said that the first mission within the framework of the ExoMars program scheduled for 2016 was almost ready, with the second mission scheduled for 2018 to be contracted this year.
