Russia to Perform Eight Space Launches in February and March


Russian space rocket will start in February and March eight times. This was reported to Interfax-AVN on Monday in the space industry.

“From February 1 to the late March it is planned to make eight space launches using Russian rockets “Proton-M” and “Soyuz “as well as the conversion missiles “Rokot” (RS-18) and “Dnepr” (RS-20),” the interlocutor of the agency told.

He noted that as of February 1 it is scheduled the launch of British communication satellite “Inmarsat” from the Baikonur Cosmodrome using rocket “Proton-M” and the upper stage “Briz-M”. The second start of “Proton-M” is scheduled for March 17, it will have to put into orbit a Russian communication satellite “Express-AM7.”

In addition, Baikonur in February and March will launch two rockets “Soyuz”. On February 17, it is scheduled the launch of rocket “Soyuz-U” with a cargo spacecraft “Progress M-26M”. On March 27 we must see the launch of “Soyuz-FG” with the manned spacecraft “Soyuz TMA-16M”.
