Arctic Brigade of the Northern Fleet in 2015 will receive more than 100 pieces of military cross-country equipment designed specifically to work in the Far North, the head of the press service of the Northern Fleet captain Vadim Serga said Thursday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in April instructed to create a unified basing system in the Arctic of surface ships and submarines of the new generation, to strengthen the border and create a new state agency to implement the policy of Russia in the Arctic.

The separate motorized rifle brigade of Arctic Northern Fleet, stationed in the village Alakurtti, Murmansk region, was established in December 2014 to protect the interests and economic security of the Russian Federation in the Arctic zone.
