The Su-25SM pilots of the Russian air base located in Kyrgyzstan have tested the GLONASS satellite navigation system during their flights under adverse weather conditions over mountainous terrain. This information was presented by the press service of the Central Military District.

“The pilots of Russia’s Kant air base stationed in the Kyrgyz Republic have conducted training flights with the use of the GLONASS satellite navigation system under adverse weather conditions over mountainous terrain,” the press center reported, noting that the modernized Su-25SM fighter bombers fitted with the GLONASS system were delivered to the base in late 2014.

“The pilots have effectively used the satellite navigation system under poor visibility conditions and performed flights at low altitudes in the mountains,” the press service informed.
