Russian Air Force to Receive Advanced Lightweight Fighter
The new advanced MiG-35 fighter developed by Russia’s MiG Aircraft Corporation will be adapted to meet the requirements of the Russian Air Force. This was stated by a source in the military-industrial complex.
“In March or April 2015, we expect to sign a state contract on the development activities for the MiG-35 fighter, which will be constructed in accordance with a technical assignment of the Russian Air Force. A state contract on the purchase of a small batch of these fighters can be signed as well,” the source said.
“The MiG-35 to be developed for the Russian Air Force will be significantly different from that presented at the Indian tender. The new fighter will be equipped with advanced airborne radar equipment and highly effective engines. It will take two or three years to create the MiG-35 meeting the requirements of the Russian Air Force,” the official concluded.
